[ Fees & Insurance ]
How fees work
What a visit costs depends on your plan, your treatment and your dentist's exam. Here is how we handle each part, and what we put in writing.
Insurance we work with
We send claims to PPO and indemnity dental plans for you. Whether we are in network is set by your plan's contract, so we look it up and tell you before you book.
PPO and indemnity plans: we file the claim
DHMO plans: call us, they work differently
Medicare and Medicare Advantage: dental coverage varies, so ask us
Medicaid and CHIP: call us and we will answer plainly
If you pay yourself
With no dental plan, you pay the fee for the treatment itself. Your dentist writes that fee down for you before any work begins. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.
Receipts for reimbursement
Paying us yourself and filing with a plan that reimburses you? Ask the front desk for an itemized statement to send in. What the plan pays is the plan's decision.
An estimate in advance
Before treatment we put an estimate in writing for anyone paying without insurance, and for anyone else who asks. It names each treatment, the visits it needs and the fee.
Ask when you book or at your exam
In writing, before treatment starts
Checking your benefits
The front desk looks up your plan's benefits before your first visit and tells you what the plan says it will cover, so the figure you hear is one you can plan around.
An estimate is our written account of what will be billed. Your plan's final payment can differ, and we explain any difference before you pay.
Questions about paying
When do I get my estimate?
After your exam, once your dentist has decided what you need. It lists each treatment, the visits it takes and the fee, and you can take it home to read.
What if my plan pays less than I expected?
A plan's figures are the plan's, not ours. If its final payment differs from what we expected, we tell you before you pay and go through your options.
Do you offer financing?
Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender. Ask the front desk for the lender's own terms to read before you decide.
